Biosafety Cabinet BSC Calibration Record | BSC Settling Plate Test

Calibration Record|BSC Settling Plate Test|READY Biotech

A Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) ensures a clean and protective environment for laboratory operations. The Settling Plate Test is a common microbiological method used to verify the cleanliness of the work zone by capturing airborne microorganisms that settle onto nutrient agar plates during operation.

READY Biotech offers professional settling plate testing services to meet regulatory standards for laboratories, hospitals, and pharmaceutical facilities.

☑ Test Procedure Overview:

▪️ Plate Placement
Sterile agar plates are placed in designated positions within the BSC workspace (typically 2–5 locations depending on cabinet size and layout).

▪️ Exposure Time
Plates are opened and exposed for 30–60 minutes under normal operating conditions.

▪️ Incubation
After exposure, plates are incubated at 30–35°C for 48 hours. Colony-forming units (CFUs) are counted and compared with acceptance criteria (e.g., CFU ≤ 1 per plate).

▪️ Reporting
Reports include plate location, exposure details, incubation conditions, and colony counts with photographic and statistical data.

☑ Applicable Scenarios:

▪ Post-installation or annual validation of BSCs
▪ Routine environmental monitoring under GMP guidelines
▪ Validation for aseptic and cleanroom operations
